SAN DIEGO, Calif.

Verari Systems, the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade servers and storage systems, today announced the appointment of David B. Wright as Chief Executive Officer by the board of directors. Dave Driggers will continue as Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Verari Systems.

Wright will focus on continuing Verari Systems’ global expansion while allowing Dave Driggers to drive technology that has distinguished the company’s line of hardware, software and storage solutions from its competition through advances such as its patented Vertical Cooling Technolog, unparalleled power efficiency and density. Wright will also build on Verari Systems’ position as a high performance computing (HPC) systems provider for the financial services, ISP/ASP, entertainment and media, oil and gas, government and EDA industries.

“Verari Systems is the technology leader serving customers’ needs for rapid deployment of quality, scalable high performance computing systems.” said Wright. “The separation of management responsibilities at the top will enable us to proliferate our core values, advance HPC technology and take our company to the next level.”

Mr. Wright, 57, has an extensive history serving in executive-level positions in the HPC industry. Most recently, Wright was Executive Vice President, Office of the CEO, Strategic Alliances and Global Accounts of EMC Corporation. With nearly 24,000 employees worldwide, EMC is a leader in products, services, and solutions for information storage and management.

“David has demonstrated throughout his career that he is an ideal leader who can help Verari Systems fully achieve the company’s extraordinary potential.” said Curtis Feeny, partner at Voyager Capital and member of Verari Systems’ board of directors. “Adding him to the exceptional talent that already exists on the executive management team will undeniably make Verari Systems a company to watch in 2006 and beyond.”

As head of EMC’s Global Alliances group, Wright was responsible for overseeing EMC’s alliance relationships with global systems vendors, systems integrators and outsourcers, ensuring that EMC provided a seamless global interface to these valuable partners. Through this program EMC was able to leverage their global scope and EMC’s entire portfolio of products and services for the benefit of customers. EMC works within a very important ecosystem of partners who are instrumental to EMC’s information lifecycle management strategy. Wright therefore focused on helping EMC create an even stronger partner culture. In addition, he worked closely with EMC’s Global Accounts team to provide global account strategy, best practices and executive sponsorship to maximize EMC’s presence and influence at global customer sites. Wright reported directly to EMC Chairman, President and CEO, Joe Tucci.

Wright served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of LEGATO Systems, Inc., before EMC acquired the company in 2003. He joined LEGATO in October 2000 following a 13-year career with Amdahl Corporation, where he had served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1997.

Before joining Amdahl, Wright spent 11 years with IBM, serving in a variety of staff and management positions. He graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he received his degree in Physics and Mathematics. He serves on the Board of Directors of Insurance Services Office, Inc., Aspect Communications and VA Software and is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group.
